I'm still working on prettying this blog up, but here we go.
Here's a little about me and why I decided to start this blog:
I'm Lara, and I'm 25 years old. I currently live in Jacksonville, FL with my husband, Jason; he's a Navy man. I'm originally from a very small town outside of Charleston, SC.
Jason and I have three kitties: Max, Kody, and Levi. They're our babies for now, since we don't have babies of our own yet.
I'm still kinda trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I graduated in December of last year with a degree in Elementary Education but I haven't found a job yet. So, I started an Etsy shop in March of this year, selling printables. I'm a dabbler and have phases of being interested in one thing or another for a period of time until I get bored and find something else I'm interested in.
One thing I'm definitely dedicated to, though, is being healthy! I don't always eat the right things or workout as much as I should, but I try my best. I'm working on losing 40 lbs that worked their way onto my body while I was on birth control for the past six years. (grrrr) I tried and tried and could not lose more than a few pounds total while I was on it. I've been off of it since May and my body is finally starting to let go of the weight.
I track my calories on MFP; if you're on there, feel free to add me if you haven't already! I'm not a gym kinda person, so I workout at home. It's just more convenient to me. I have a lot of workout DVDs, a treadmill, weights, and workout apps (namely, Nike Training Club!) on my phone so I don't get bored.
But now that my body is finally starting to get rid of the weight, hubs and I are trying to start a family! Ideally, I would have liked to have been around my goal weight at the beginning of my pregnancy, but that ain't happenin' with this one! If you saw my post yesterday on the MLFC wall, you know that I might already be preggo! :)
So, pregnant or not, this blog will be a way for me to stay accountable with my eating and exercise. I'd love it if you joined me!
